Eloquent is built to keep your meetings private. In short: your audio and transcripts stay on your Mac.
What stays on your device
Recording, transcription, and AI summaries all run locally on your Mac. Your audio recordings and transcripts are stored in local files on your machine. Eloquent does not upload them to any server, and there is no account to create.
What we do collect
When you purchase or activate a license, your license key is validated through our payments provider, Lemon Squeezy, which processes your purchase and license (see their privacy policy). License activation sends only your license key and a device label — never your recordings or transcripts.
Third-party AI tools (MCP)
If you choose to connect Eloquent to an AI tool (such as Claude or Cursor) via its MCP integration, that tool can read the transcripts you allow it to access. What those tools do with that data is governed by their own privacy policies. This connection is optional and off until you enable it.
Google Calendar access
If you choose to connect your Google account, Eloquent Meetings requests read-only access to your Google Calendar (the calendar.readonly scope). We use this solely to read your upcoming events so the app can show your meeting schedule and let you start a recording for the right meeting. We only read calendar data — we never create, edit, or delete events.
Your calendar information is used on your device to power these features and is not sold, shared, or transferred to third parties, and it is not used for advertising. Connecting Google Calendar is optional and off until you enable it; you can disconnect at any time from within the app or by revoking access in your Google Account permissions.
Eloquent Meetings' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Data retention & deletion
Because Eloquent Meetings runs on your device, we do not store your recordings, transcripts, or calendar data on our servers. Calendar events are read on demand and held only in the app on your Mac; they are removed when they are no longer needed or when you disconnect your Google account. Your recordings and transcripts remain in local files that you can delete at any time. Deleting the app removes its local data from your machine.
Data security
Eloquent Meetings is distributed as an Apple-signed and notarized app. Your data stays in local files on your Mac, protected by your operating system's security. Any Google authorization tokens are stored using the secure storage provided by macOS. Because your data does not leave your device, it is never exposed to our servers.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your recordings, transcripts, or calendar data with third parties. The only data that leaves your device is what is strictly necessary to validate your license (see "What we do collect") and, if you choose, the transcripts you explicitly share with an AI tool you connect (see "Third-party AI tools").
Children's privacy
Eloquent Meetings is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be reflected here.
